Yes, our Elk Grove Village practice offers braces for teens with clear braces by Invisalign. Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners to gently nudge misaligned teeth into the desired position.
Both teens and adults appreciate the convenience of Invisalign as well as the fact that they can obtain straight teeth without the metal brackets and wires of traditional orthodontics.
Advantages of Invisalign
There are other advantages to Invisalign clear braces:
- They are virtually undetectable, so no one will know you are undergoing treatment.
- They are removable for eating, so there are no food restrictions.
- Keeping teeth clean while undergoing treatment is also easy because of the removable aligners.
- There are fewer trips to the dentist involved because there are no orthodontic adjustments. Dr. Advani will give you a few sets of aligners at once; you can swap them out every couple weeks, per doctor instructions.
- Patients can remove the plastic aligners for an important event or photographs.
Invisalign treatment tends to be quicker than traditional braces, with most cases taking from six to 18 months.
As long as teens are mature enough to be compliant—it is necessary to wear the clear plastic aligners for a minimum of 22 hours each day—Invisalign is an excellent option for straightening teeth. Call our office to learn more!
Most PPO Dental Insurances help to cover the cost of braces between the ages of 13-19. Most PPO insurances plans pay between $1,000 to $2,500 towards orthodontic treatment. The coverage depends on the PPO plan that you have.
After dental insurance coverage, the cost for braces is typically $1,500 to $2,000 out-of-pocket, which can be spread over 12-24 months, depending on the length of orthodontic treatment.\

Invisalign aligners are worn throughout the day and night, which means they must be kept clean to minimize germs and bacteria. Since they're in your mouth all the time, they can get pretty dirty!
Invisalign clear aligners are a popular alternative to traditional braces. Unlike metal brackets and wires, Invisalign aligners are nearly invisible, making them more comfortable and esthetically pleasing. But how do you keep these clear aligners clean?
Below are some tips for cleaning your Invisalign clear aligners:
- Remove the aligners for eating.
- Store the aligners in a protective case when not in use.
- Do not use denture cleaner or mouthwash to clean your aligners.
- Rinse your aligners with lukewarm water before brushing, and avoid using hot water.
- Use a gentle toothbrush (and toothpaste) to brush your aligners. This toothbrush shouldn't be the one you brush your teeth with.
- Rinse your aligners thoroughly with lukewarm water after brushing.
- Dry your aligners before putting them back into your mouth.
- Soak your aligners in Invisalign's cleaning crystals. These crystals are designed to remove plaque and bacteria from your aligners, and the soak takes about 15 minutes.
- Avoid eating mints or menthol candies that can cause yellow staining on your aligners.
Finally, remember to brush your teeth before putting the aligners back in your mouth. This will help to keep your smile healthy and sparkling! By following these simple tips, you can help keep your Invisalign clear aligners clean and free of bacteria.

Many patients opt for orthodontic treatment but don't want to spend years with metal braces on. That is why we offer 6-months braces to straighten your teeth quickly. Short-term braces or 6-month Braces are tooth-colored braces that are placed by Dr. Advani which move the front teeth in 5-6 months. Once the braces are put on, you'll have once a month check-ups to have the braces tightened.
Who qualifies for 6-month braces?
The patients that are best suited for this procedure are ones who either have crowding, spaces or rotated front teeth and don't need much movement of their back teeth.

Retainers are an important part of orthodontics at our Elk Grove Village dental office. They allow you to maintain and protect your investment in your healthier, more attractive smile.
Retain Your Straight, Beautiful Smile
We know you're looking forward to being completely done with your orthodontic treatment, but if you don't wear your retainer as directed, your teeth will drift back into their original position. During orthodontic treatment, the ligaments that hold your teeth in place are loosened. This is what makes it possible to successfully move your teeth into a more ideal position, but it does take a while for the ligaments and bone to firm up and keep your teeth in place.
There's no one single answer to how long you should wear your retainer following your treatment. Just about everyone will need to wear a retainer for at least one year, but the period could be longer depending on how significant the changes are. Certain types of corrections, such as closing wide gaps, can also make it necessary for you to wear your retainer for a longer period of time. Some retainers are worn full time and even bonded in place while others are removable, which also affects the amount of time the retainer should be worn.

Dr. Advani will work with you closely and provide guidance when it comes to wearing your retainer. Lost or damaged retainers can be a nuisance to replace and can set back your treatment, so make sure to treat yours carefully.

Clear Aligners
Invisible braces is a term often used to refer to Invisalign, an orthodontic treatment system that uses clear aligners to fix crooked teeth instead of the traditional metal and wire braces. The plastic aligners are practically invisible when they are being worn so you can continue your regular life and maintain your mature, professional appearance.

Get a Straighter Smile Today!
Whether you never had braces as a child or had braces and didn’t wear your retainer quite as faithfully as you should have, it’s not too late. You can still have a healthy, straight, attractive smile with Invisalign, often referred to as “invisible braces.”
Invisalign eliminates many of the hassles associated with traditional braces. Of course, the biggest advantage is that they are practically invisible and most people will never even know that you’re wearing them.
Other reasons patients love Invisalign include:
- No need to change your diet to avoid damaging your braces
- No need to brush around brackets or weave floss between wires
- Often a faster treatment time
- Fewer visits to the dentist
- Convenience and flexibility
As an adult, your professional and mature appearance is important to you, and at Elk Grove Smile Center, we recognize and respect that need. With Invisalign, you can confidently speak in front of groups or meet with clients without having to worry about what they are thinking. You can even simply remove your Invisalign aligners for a few hours for a special occasion if you need to!

The best age to get Braces to correct the position of teeth is after all the adult permanent teeth have erupted, which is usually at age 12. Most teenagers need braces to correct rotated teeth, crowded teeth, spacing and incorrect bites.

Dr. Advani recommends getting braces as a teenager, between the ages of 13-19
At Elk Grove Smile Center, our dental team offers the full range of orthodontics in Elk Grove Village for a variety of smile-straightening needs. We treat patients of all ages and with all kinds of teeth alignment challenges. This is why we provide the three main types of orthodontic treatments: traditional metal braces, Invisalign clear aligners, and Six Month Smiles.
- Conventional metal braces – This time-tested method uses metal brackets cemented to your teeth and connected by wires. Dr. Advani will likely recommend this option for more complicated orthodontic issues for younger patients. The results from these metal braces are consistent and reliable, but many people dislike the appearance and discomfort associated with them.
- Invisalign clear aligners – if you’d like a less obtrusive way to straighten your smile, clear aligners are an excellent option. They straighten most alignment issues through a series of BPA-free plastic trays designed to move your teeth over time gently. Adults and teens prefer them because they are removable for eating, fit comfortably, and virtually disappear against your teeth so that no one will notice you’re wearing them.
- Six Month Smiles – For the fastest results, our dentists can focus on your front teeth, which are the most visible part of your smile. This system uses clear ceramic brackets and wires; because it only works on some teeth, we can complete treatment in months.
