Insurance & Payment
Insurance & financingDo you accept insurance and payment plans?
Yes. We accept all PPO insurance plans and offer a dental savings plan for patients without insurance, plus financing through Cherry, CareCredit, and Proceed Finance. We do not accept HMO plans or Public Aid/All Kids.
Will dental insurance pay for my implants?
Most plans cover a portion of dental implants and the attached crown or bridge, typically around 50%. Our team is happy to contact your insurance provider and explain your exact benefits and costs.
I’m worried about the cost of dental implants. What are my options?
Implants are often comparable in cost to bridges or dentures. Insurance may cover part of the procedure, financing is available, and placing multiple implants together can reduce the overall cost.
Is cosmetic dentistry covered by my insurance?
It depends on your plan and the procedure. Purely cosmetic treatments, such as whitening and veneers, usually are not covered, while treatments that restore function, such as crowns and bridges, are often partially covered.
Does PPO dental insurance cover braces for teenagers?
Most PPO plans partially cover braces for teens ages 13 to 19, typically $1,000 to $2,500 depending on the plan. Remaining costs can often be spread over monthly payments.
General & Family Dentistry
General dentistryCan gum disease be reversed?
Often, yes, if it is caught early. Gingivitis responds well to better home care and professional cleanings. Watch for bleeding gums, redness, swelling, and bad breath that won’t go away. Advanced gum disease (periodontitis) can’t be cured, but it can be managed with deep cleanings, antibiotic therapy, and extra cleanings.
How can I keep up with my oral health between visits?
Brush twice a day, floss once a day, eat nutritious foods, avoid sugary drinks, and drink fluoridated tap water. Call us if you notice bleeding gums, sensitivity, or any pain.
What are tooth-colored fillings?
Tooth-colored fillings are made of composite resin with no metal or mercury. They are color-matched to your natural teeth, so they are virtually invisible.
Are dental sealants safe?
Yes. Sealants are a safe, effective way to protect teeth from cavities. They are painted on as a liquid, cured quickly, and can last several years.
Can I get a dental crown done the same day?
Yes. With CEREC technology, we design and mill your crown in our office and place it in a single visit, with no temporary crown.
Dental Implants
Dental implantsAre dental implants better than dentures?
Implants are a stable, long-term option. Unlike dentures, they don’t slip, they help preserve the jawbone, and they feel more natural. Implants can also hold a denture securely in place.
Do dental implants hurt?
Placement is typically painless thanks to local anesthesia. Most patients feel only slight pressure and manage any discomfort afterward with over-the-counter medication.
How long does it take to place a dental implant?
Usually an hour or less, including post-op instructions. Most patients drive themselves home and eat a soft diet for the first few days.
Will I need to see another professional for my implants?
No. Dr. Advani performs both the surgical placement and the restoration of implants, so your care stays in one place. He has placed more than 1,000 implants and also performs bone grafts and sinus lifts.
How long do All-on-4 or All-on-X implants last?
With proper care, they can last 10 to 20 years or longer. Daily cleaning and six-month dental visits are essential.
Cosmetic & Orthodontics
Cosmetic dentistryAre dental veneers safe?
Yes. Veneers are a safe, effective way to correct discoloration, chips, spacing, and minor alignment issues. A small amount of enamel is removed, and the results are long-lasting.
Is teeth whitening safe?
Yes. Professional whitening supervised by a dentist is safe and effective, and modern formulas help reduce sensitivity while protecting enamel.
What orthodontic options do you offer?
We offer traditional braces, Invisalign clear aligners, and Six Month Smiles, so we can treat a wide range of alignment concerns for teens and adults.
Can teenagers use Invisalign?
Yes. Invisalign Teen is designed for teenagers and straightens teeth without metal braces. Dr. Advani will evaluate whether it’s right for your teen.
How long do I wear a retainer after orthodontic treatment?
Most patients wear a retainer for at least one year. The exact time depends on your correction and retainer type, and Dr. Advani will guide you.
Treatments & Emergencies
Emergency dentistryWhat do I do if I need an emergency dentist?
During office hours, call us right away for same-day care. After hours, call our regular number for further instructions.
Are root canals painful?
No. A root canal relieves the pain caused by infection, and our gentle techniques help you feel better quickly. Sedation is available for anxious patients.
Are tooth extractions painful?
With modern techniques and anesthetics, most patients feel only slight pressure during an extraction. Any discomfort afterward is easily managed with medication.
What age should I remove my wisdom teeth?
The ideal age is between 15 and 21, when the roots aren’t fully developed and the bone is less dense, for easier removal and faster recovery.
How do night guards help with TMJ?
A custom night guard keeps your jaw in a neutral position while you sleep, reducing clenching, muscle strain, and joint pressure.
