Root Canal Therapy

Gentle Root Canals That Relieve Pain

Sometimes there is no pain at all and an X-ray reveals the problem. Call us right away if you notice:

  • Toothache or lingering sensitivity
  • Swelling or a sore on the gums
  • Jaw pain
  • A darkened or discolored tooth

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Call Now (847) 472-0236
Are root canals painful?

Most patients say a root canal feels similar to getting a filling. The infection causes the pain; treatment removes it, so most people feel better afterward.

Will a root canal save my tooth?

If the inside of your tooth is infected or injured, a root canal may be the only way to save it and stop the infection from spreading.

What if I’m still nervous?

Talk to Dr. Advani about your concerns. He may recommend nitrous oxide or minimal oral sedation to help you relax during treatment.

Will I need a crown afterward?

If the tooth is weak after treatment, a crown protects it from breaking. If it is still strong, a filling may be enough.
